SIR instructors are accredited by cantonal police forces in accordance with the Concordat on security companies. Some also hold the FSEA certificate, guaranteeing a professional pedagogical framework adapted to adult training.

Admission requirements
- A clean police record less than three months old (no exceptions), or one with no more than one offence (other than a misdemeanor or felony).
- 2 years of practical experience (corresponding to a minimum of 3,200 hours of work) in a security and surveillance service after obtaining the CFC or equivalent training.
- For those without a CFC or equivalent training, at least 4 years “practical experience (corresponding to a minimum of 6,400 hours” work) in a security and surveillance service.
- Or have a federal certificate in personal and property protection (APB)
- Are at least 22 years old
